Education
Tequila was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1999 and a Master of Business Administration from UAB in 2003. She earned a Master of Arts in Communication Studies: Organizational Leadership from the University of Alabama in 2019.

Tequila has over two decades of experience working in roles with progressive scope and responsibility at ReWorld, Southern Company, Alabama Power Company and Georgia Power Company. Her background includes hands-on senior leadership involvement in helping industrial companies engage on issues of sustainability at both corporate and community levels.
A Seat at the Table
Currently, Tequila serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for ReWorld, a leader in sustainable materials management and a premier provider of environmental solutions benefiting businesses and communities across North America. In this role she leads the design, implementation and measurement of both internal and external sustainability impact programs that address overall sustainability, environmental justice, government/ regulatory affairs and community engagement strategy.
